In November 2021 I held a solo exhibition in Stone Gallery in Cervignano (UD), Italy. It was my most successful exhibition to date and I remember the odd feeling right after having finished setting it up. For a minute I was left alone in the gallery and all my work from previous three years was neatly displayed on the walls, staring at me. I still don’t know how to describe it exactly, but it felt overwhelming. All my girls, looking at me, talking to me, all at once shouting back at me every single thing I had encapsulated in them while painting them… I see my paintings in my studio every day. Each new one grabs my attention from the previous one. I get used to them and perhaps sometimes don’t even notice them anymore. I always say my art is my diary, so to see three years worth of mental luggage displayed in front of me all at once was a lot to take in. Nevertheless it truly was a wonderful experience and I am grateful I got to do it. The exhibition was composed of two bigger series, “Seamus” and “Suspended”, and two miniseries, “Feel Too Much” and “Dollhouse”. It also included a few loose pieces, the “Aya Sato Triptych” and “Mr. Im” among others, which you can view on my “Portraits” page.
